Una de les grans conseqüències de l'aventura americana que estic duent a terme és la d'apretar-se el cinturó (en tots els sentits). Si traduïm aquesta dita en accions, una d'elles seria afegir un link directe a l'apartat "Free Stuff" (Coses gratuïtes) de Craigslist a la barra d'adreces d'interés del meu navegador.
Pels que no ho conegueu, Craigslist (La llista de Craig -el fundador-) és una pàgina web a on pots trobar de TOT en diferents regions de EEUU. També està a Barcelona, però no té tant d'èxit.

Bé, doncs fent la meva recerca diària, vaig trobar un paio que donava entrades lliures per assistir en viu a la gravació d'un programa de TV als estudis ABC. Una lliço de 2 hores d'escolta en anglés, gratuïta i interactiva? M'apunto. Estem aquí per això, no?
El programa: The View from the Bay. Queda lluny del tipus de programació que jo veuria un dia entre setmana a l'hora crítica, les 3 de la tarda. Però en viu és un altra història.

Així que amb uns quants companys de classe vam anar-hi i vam seure a última fila. Però si veieu el programa (no ho recomano, malgrat deixo el link), aquells que criden de fons com si fos el show més impressionant que mai han presenciat, som nosaltres.

I com a record, em van regalar un llibre d'autoajuda per respondre correctament una pregunta sobre l'entrevista que havien fet a les autores d'aquest. Seria una gran notícia sinò fos perque el títol és "Reina de la teva pròpia vida". Suposo que sempre podrem treure-li profit...

One of the biggest consequence of the American adventure that I'm living is to tighten one's belt (in all meanings). If we traslate this idiom in actions, one of those would be haviing a direct link to "Free Stuff" in Craigslist in the adress bar in my navigator.
For the ones who doesn't know it, Craigslist (The list of Craig -the founder-) it's a web site where you can find anything in different regions and cities of USA. It's also at Barcelona, but it's not as successful as here.

So, doing my dayly research, I found a guy who gave free tickets to see a live taping of a TV Show in ABC studios. A 2 hours listening lesson, for free and interactive? I sign up. I'm here for this, aren't I?
The program: The View from the Bay. It so far from the kind of TV Show I would watch in a weekday at the critical hour, 3pm. But in live is a horse of a different color.

We went together with some classmates and we seated in the ast row. But if you watch the show (wich I don't recommend, although it's the link), those who are yelling like if it was the best show the have ever been, are us.

And as a souvenir, they gave me a self-help book for giving the right answer to a question about a interview they did to the authors. It would be great news if the title of the book wasn't "Queen of your own life". I guess we always can curry favor with it...
